Innovating for Temperature Sensitive Shipping

Solutions for the Temperature Sensitive Shipping industry range from small to large freight containers. The level of sophistication can range from what appears to be a simple carrying case to a complex system of compressors, controls and container hardware.

AcuTemp understands that the size and apparent simplicity of a container does not necessarily correlate to its importance. In fact, quite the opposite is often true. Some of AcuTemp’s smallest, simplest solutions deliver lifesaving vaccines, medicines and organs to people in need. It is this understanding that drives the innovative and thorough development approach employed for every AcuTemp solution. The goal is always the same — Extract maximum performance from every thermal container.

AcuTemp Passive Container Systems

While a passive AcuTemp container for temperature sensitive products may appear simple from the outside, sophisticated materials, engineering design, testing and validation go into the development of every AcuTemp solution. The development process includes:

  • Analysis of payload and ambient conditions
  • Constraint analysis (e.g., internal and external dimensions, weight, ruggedness, coolant, etc.)
  • Computerized thermal analysis
  • Prototype manufacture and iterative testing
  • Final design testing and validation to ISTA or supplied protocols
  • Delivery of pack-out diagrams including coolant packs and payload

Powered Transportation Systems

AcuTemp’s leadership position in thermal management goes well beyond developing and producing high performing insulation materials like ThermoCor®. In fact, high performance insulation is a surprisingly small (yet critically important) element in many of our systems. Our mobile refrigerators and thermal pallet shippers require systems integration expertise that only AcuTemp offers. Our experience in incorporating thermal system components into complete temperature-management systems is extensive and AcuTemp engineers boast expertise in the following areas:

  • Compressors
  • Evaporators
  • Electrical controls and devices
  • Data logging, analysis and export
  • Power options include internal battery and AC/DC
  • Structural design and analysis
  • Container design
  • System integration
  • Thermal analysis
  • Software development
